SwedenOpen.Net
An open access network with a freedom of choice

Vision

What if user groups and agents, e.g. housing companies, cities, etc, build local access networks providing a choice of Internet service providers offering connectivity both to the local user community and to bypassing roaming users?
Are there business and management models that could make this happen?

Goals

SwedenOpen.Net is a cooperative user-driven effort to create an open communication environment in Sweden. It is an embryo for a national open access network providing local services and a freedom of choice of Internet Service Providers.

Partners

The network is growing out of local initiatives in cooperation between users, academia, industry and local and regional administrations. Most of the development efforts are contributed by students in various project assignments.

Local Initiatives

All local networking initiatives that support the Open.Net ideas are welcome to join the SwedenOpen network..

The member list currently includes:
Nora Wireless
SkellefteOpen.Net
StockholmOpen.Net
